Mountain Musings

That’s the thing about peaks,
Eventually... you peak.
Reach the absolute limit,
The highest that anyone has and will meet.
What once seemed so vast,
All along had a cap.

Do you feel restricted?
Is your ego wanting something even more ambitious?

Did you even stop to take notice
Of the view at the top
Before descending in record time,
To conquer the next peak in line?
Did you feel the lick of the wind,
What did she whisper?
Did you put yourself in the vantage point of an eagle?
Have you considered how absolutely fundamental
It is to be met with limits
In this human form that competes
In a game of development?

Sit yourself down into the cradle of the mountain.
Celebrate that stagnation is just as much a success
As ascending to the peak of progress.
